After OneYear.......
How time flies, it been a year since Daddy updated this blog..So much happens within the year..Our family trip to China, up the Great Wall..Raphael starting his formal Education in Holy Innocent's Primary School (HIPS).. Daddy changed new job (that is why got time to blog again ;p).
We do find ourselves taking less photos of the kids compared to past few years..hopefully with blogging, we will start to take more nice and memorable pictures of the fun things we do together every weekend.

Training for 21km Half Marathon
Its been more than 6 years (since mummy carried Raphael in her tummy in 2008) since we last went on a proper jog together as a couple. After relaxing for so long and gaining so much weight in the process, we decided to pick up where we left off and start training for this years 1/2 marathon.
We went shopping for our new shoes as our old pair has dis-integrated due to lack of use. Mummy is well known to splurge on the boys..from toys, food to clothes..spending hundreds at one go without batting an eyelid.
But when it comes to ourselves, we are really stingy..we are not willing to spend 100++ for a pair of running shoes from the major brands..we visited Royal Sporting house, those cost min $149+ above for a nice pair..next we went to those outlet store and also cost around $100+..finally we went to Yue Hwa the Chinese department store in Chinatown and finally found some within our "budget" haha..
Mummy got a pair of Adidas at $89 while Daddy goes a step further by getting a China brand at $55..Tried our both pairs on 2 runs so far and they are comparable to those costing more from our last few purchase..if we look beyond the branding, we can actually save quite a fair bit.
Next up will be up to Daddy and Mummy to continue jogging to gear up for the Dec run.

Legoland Hotel Staycation
Date : 22-23rd Feb 2014
After resisting the temptation to try out the new LEGOLAND Hotel when it 1st open in Dec, we finally "gave in" and book a night to surprise the kids. It cost us around SGD$320+ after a 25% discount!. This is really expensive considering we can stay in a 5* Hotel like MBS or Fullerton in Singapore at this price..
Apart from the Theme (Pirate) in the room, the rest of the hotel is pretty basic. We don't feel much "luxury" around the hotel. Saw in some online forums that LEGOLAND says they are not a star rated hotel but a Themed Hotel. But Disneyland Hotel is also a Theme Hotel but everywhere in the hotel we can feel the "Luxury" factor from the lobby, restaurant to the rooms.
Infact, we feel the "Bricks Restaurant" where the breakfast is held gives us a feeling of being in "Ikea" rather than a SGD$300++ hotel.
The Kids as usual enjoyed the stay as we can stroll back to the hotel after playtime in the park.
We will be trying out the Traders Hotel in Puteri harbour by Shangri-La group which is 30% cheaper.
We also tried returning via Woodlands Causeway instead of Tuas 2nd link which seems to have a constant "jam" for close to 40mins..we will not try this route and will stick to Tuas in future.

Gabriel turns 3!!

Gabriel turns 3 on the 26th Jan. We celebrated this special event with close family and friends 1 day earlier on this cool Saturday afternoon.
Mummy spend a lot of effort on the decorations and almost all are DIY..banners, pirate hat, customised kitkat and buffet dish name display..
The centre of attention is a Jake and Neverland Pirate cake which is fully sponsored by Mummy. She says its all well worth it as long as it brings a smile to Gabriel's face..

11th Visit to Legoland

after a 2 months hiatus, we are again back to LEGOLAND. Gabriel is 3 YO this visit and we are pondering whether to get an annual pass for him. Checking out the ticket counter, we saw a promotion where we can purchase a Kids day ticket (RM110) and convert it into an annual pass (RM210). that's a saving of RM100, so we proceeded to get one for him.

Happy 3x Birthday Mummy
Date : 5th Feb 2014
Its mummy's birthday and we both took leave to have some couple time. We went for a movie (Vegas to Macau) followed by lunch at Madam Kwan and dinner at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa.
After 2 kids over 6 years..birthday celebration is just food food and more food.

Xmas eve dinner this year is a simple affair kept within immediate family at Bennett's house..We baked cheese cake and bought a Tandoori Turkey to add on to the potluck dishes.

Underwater Camera

Daddy finally changed his smartphone from Apple to Android..the new handset is a Sony Xperia Z1 which won him over with its waterproof functions and shock, dust, scratch proof features.
On the 3rd day of getting the phone, we took it to the pool for the ultimate test..Underwater photography..
the Phone passed its test with flying colors..some glitches aside on the touch sensitivity, the clarity of the image is fantastic..
we will definitely be taking this phone into unexplored territories for more pictures of the kids..

Gabriel 1st Day at Pre-Nursery
Date : 2nd Jan 2014
Although we mentally prepared Gabriel for his 1st day in pre-nursery, he still suffered separation anxiety and "suffered" during his 1st 2 weeks. He will cry, throw tantrums in the morning before school. Our helper needs to carry, coax and "drag" him to school daily. Luckily Grandpa, Grandma and Great Aunt Magdelene all chipped in and ensure that Gabriel is well taken care in class and after.
Grandpa Phay visited Gabriel almost daily and walk him back and after 2 weeks, the crying ceases..the tantrum throwing stops and whats left is cheerful toddler who will start to break into simple dance and song every now and then.
Into the 4th weeks, he is singing our national anthem and some nursery rhymes..he made some friends in matthew, Kayla..
His adaption is so much faster than Raphael kor kor compared to when he 1st started Apple Tree.

Raphael's Doctor for a Day

Thanks to Auntie Val, we managed to get a slot to let Raphael experience this "Doctor For A Day" by Mt E Novena which is for Charity where we pay $20 to let the kids experience the various Department in a Hospital..From A&E to Nursery where they had to learn to clean the poop of a new born baby (doll).
Raphael enjoys the event with his buddies Rayden and Damien and the whole event lasted more than a hour..while mummy is busy taking pictures of Raphael, Daddy stayed at one corner and did a portfolio for Gabriel :)

Dec Kiddy Shows
Dec! its a time when any decent mall will have some character shows to entice shoppers to spend spend spend..we only focus on 2 shows that the kids love..Doraemon and Pororo..too bad there is no jack and the neverland pirate..we also missed Ninja Turtle at Takashimaya..unlike the negative reviews on minion shows at Suntec, we are lucky both the Doraemon and Pororo shows are fantastic with lots of dance and special effects, especially Pororo with fake snow flakes..

Welcoming the Phay Family back Home - Nov-Dec

Grandpa and Grandma Phay has been away at Shanghai for the past 2 months and we cant wait for them to be back as we missed the home cooked food and "nagging" in the house. Finally we welcome them back today. Grandpa will start his retirement life in Singapore, spending daytime with the kids..Raphael actually "dread" it as he is afraid of Grandpa and cant imagine having to behave himself whole day and not only in the evening when Grandpa is still working haha

This time we are at the airport to welcome back Bennett (Godpa) and Family, returning back from Canada for good..Its been 6 months since we last saw Yvette and Ian the boys missed them a lot. its great to have them back for Xmas and CNY
