Gabriel into Role Playing

Just as we are rejoicing over Raphael's new found water skills, its Gabriel's turn to surprise us. He is slowly learning to role play and play acting..We guess we don't need to send him for any speech and drama class.
He is able to sing along to the songs that Raphael listens to, like "Ah Boys to Man" theme song and recent fave "Tang Lang Quan"
He new found "skill" is role playing..in the video below, he is imitating Elyse and incorporating his own imagination into the role..
In the 2nd video, he pretends to use an imaginary phone and calls "someone" and started chatting by telling the other person what he is doing..

MileStone - Ability to swim and float on his own
Its been 4 months since Raphael started his swimming lesson together with Elsie and Chloe..During the many sessions, he is slowly developing his swimming skills although he can be too confident sometimes which is "dangerous"
During the session today, one of the "stunt" is to jump into the water from the edge and swim towards the instructor who will pass them the "noodle" for them to continue swimming to the other end of the pool..
We didn't know that Raphael can actually keep afloat, swim and take breath for 3 times before reaching the instructor..all this without the assistance of any float..We are impressed by this little boy's swimming capabilities..
After the lesson, he is playing at the "baby" pool and daddy saw him floating face up which is another feat that he somehow masters on his own.. :) This boy always manages to surprise us in a good way..

Layhoon Ah Yee's 2x Birthday!
We celebrated Auntie Layhoon's 2x Birthday with dinner of Pizza, Baked Rice, KFC Chicken and the Star of the night is the absolutely rich and creamy chocolate cake from Chef Icon..
This cake will soon be our "default" chocolate birthday cake..but its also very Expensive at ~$60\kg for a chocolate cake..that price is usually reserved for D24 Durian we thought.

New Family Sport - Kick Scooter
We got the 2 boys their Micro scooter some time back to encourage them to exercise more. Recently we also started to spend our weekend more actively doing outdoor sports rather then mall hopping..
There are really many places in Singapore that is free and fun to scoot safely around..we went to East Coast last weekend and also "discovered" Garden By the Bay as another good place to scoot..Marina Barrage is just next to the Garden and its also another wide open place..
While watching the boys playing in the water playground, Daddy observed some older kids also scooting around and daddy finds it fun...so he decided to source online for a good model that can withstand his weight..
After comparing all options, Daddy finally decided on Oxelo Scoooters which can be bought online at www.decathlon.sg.
The stocks for both the luxury Town 7 Easy Fold and Town 7 suspension are really selling like hotcakes..Daddy managed to "grab" one last piece that they restocked in the morning and sold out by noon when they release it on their website.
Intially wanted to get the Easy fold at SGD$249, but as its out of stock, Daddy bought the Town 7 suspension at SGD$184 to see if its really fun to scoot in..if this passes the "test", then we will buy Easy Fold model when its in stock so that the whole family can have one scooter to their name.
Really looking forward to receiving the Grey town 7 suspension soon so that we can go ECP to scoot again..
Raphael is an expert in scooting on his Micro scooter..

Starting of Active Weekend

Sticking to the active, healthy lifestyle pledge for our weekend, we made more effort to plan outdoor activities over mall hopping..today we are here at East Coast Park with the kids to cycle, scoot and (daddy and mummy) chase after the kids..
Raphael is very comfortable on his micro scooter and can cover the long stretch with ease..he is almost an "expert" with tricky manoeuvre and fast speed..
gabriel is still not stable on his mini scooter, so we let him ride his tricycle instead..took him a long time to cover the same distance as Raphael..so Daddy spends his time running up and down between the 2..
We spend some time at the sand castle beach and the boys had a great time getting their hands dirty..Gabriel was initially reluctant and afraid of the sand on his feet..but after Daddy brought him to the part of the beach where the sand is smooth, he slowly overcame his fear and started enjoying the sand as well.
Dinner was Tse Char at Kola's seafood at SinMing road to celebrate Daddy's birthday today..
Great start to the afternoon activities..

River Taxi with Grandpa Phay
Date : 9th June
Continuing our recent "craze" exploring the Marina Bay area, this time we are back with Grandpa and Granny Phay..Its Grandpa's 1st visit to the MBS area and we had an relaxing stroll around the area followed by dinner at Din Tai Fung at MBFC..
We are slowly moving away from spending weekend in malls to more outdoor activites..soon we will start even more active and healthy events for weekends like cycling and kick scooting with the kids..
DIL and MIL..good relationship haha :)

Singapore Flyer Outing
Date : 8th June
Shawn has some complimentary tickets to the Flyer and so here we are..at the recently "bankrupt" Singapore icon by the bay..this attraction is seriously expensive..it cost something like more than $20 for adults and $15 for children..the last time we went on our own pocket cost us close to $70 for a 30mins ride..
Gabriel and Raphael are not afraid of heights..the last time we took a ride so high up is in HK cable car ride to Lantau Island..which is even higher..
After the ride, we went to the kids jump at the base of the flyer for Raphael and Gabriel to try out the exciting jump..Gabriel gave up (cried) at the last minute and thus Raphael had seconds which he enjoys sooo much..
this kids jump is more attractive then the flyer itself haha
