Visiting Singapore Discovery Centre and OCS
Date : 14th Sept 2013
Since starting on the Ah Boys to Man craze, Raphael has been chanting OCS. SCS and kept pestering us to bring him there. Having been to SCS (Specialist Cadet School) at Pasir Laba Camp during his Uncle Lawrence POP, we decided to bring him to OCS (Officer Cadet School) today.
We need to take the tour bus at Singapore Discover Centre (FOC for Singaporeans) and since we have some time before the bus departs, we just wander around the centre where Gabriel took pictures with the Singa Lion (tot he is on strike?) and saw some exhibits on what makes us Singaporeans.
The tour of SAFTI is very short, its over within 10mins and quite disappointing that we don't get to see the training and living area of OCS.
Dropping off at SDC again, we went on to explore the mini SOC (Standard Obstacle Course) which keeps the kids active for a while as Raphael pretended to be a recruit with a SAR21 in his hand manoeuvring the obstacle course.
We finish the trip with some pictures with the array of military vehicle on display.

Raphael Dumpty had a Great Fall!
Date : 31st Aug 2013
Raphael had a bad fall at East Coast Park while scooting. The location of the fall is at the bridge next to the water ski park. NParks really need to look into this gapping hole on the ground where any skaters or scooters will definitely fall trap to.
Immediately after his fall, his whole lower face is covered in blood and he is in a state of shock.
When he regain his composure under the shade, he started asking us how did he fall, where did he fall. it seems that he don't have much memory of the fall. Human protectionism instinct kicking in to prevent him suffering trauma.
Went to see a Doctor and confirm he only suffered superficial injuries and his sausage lips will recover in few days to a week.

Staycation @ Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur

As our domestic help is on home leave and happen that my mother also booked a hols to Bali, which means the kids had no care taker on 23rd-26th Aug.
Since we need to take leave from work, we thought we might as well plan a mini getaway to neighbouring Kuala Lumpur. We managed to get a good offer at Shangri-La KL as we had a good experience in our previous stay.
On our check-in, we got upgraded from our Club room to a suite to our delight. The room is fantastic, the space we have allows the kids to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
As the security landscape in and around KL is poor from our understanding, we pretty much just stayed in the hotel and wander around the crowded KLCC area.
On the Horizon club room privilege, we are able to access the private lounge for drinks throughout the day and light finger foods and snacks are available at various time of the day. So if we are lazy to go out of the hotel, we can simply snack at the lounge.
The only local food we went out of the way is to Petaling Street (Chinatown) for the famous black hokkien mee. We also metup with Daddy's friend at Lot 10 food court where all of Malaysia's famous food are gathered in a one stop shop location.
Overall the drive to and fro from Singapore to KUL is enjoyable as we travel during off peak hours. We took about 3 /1/2 hrs travelling at 110km\h to reach KUL (330km). But from the outskirts of KUL to our hotel, it took us a good 1 1/2 hrs to cover 30km.
With the good exchange rate and wonderful hotel, we will definitely be back again.
**swimming incident**
On our 2nd day of the stay, Raphael got too confident while swimming and ventured too far out to the deep end. He overestimated his swim skills and cant make his way back to the steps. Daddy is at the small pool with Gabriel while mummy happens to step a few feet away to put the camera away.
Raphael shouted "help! help!" and daddy immediately jumped into the water. The lifeguard nearer to Raphael got to him 1st and pulled him out. He is slightly shaken, but more like embarrassed and kept asking us to leave the pool.
We questioned him if he really got into trouble in the pool or was he just crying "wolf". it seems to be a mixture of both but he do confide in Daddy that he really couldn't make it back to the shallow part of the pool and although he can trap water, but he still swallowed some water.
Thanks God nothing serious happen to our Darling. We will never ever leave this boy unattended in the pool, even for just a few seconds.

Raphael's School Sports Day
Date : 7th August 2013
Its the eve of National Day long weekend and its also Raphael's school sports day. Parents are invited to the even to cheer the kids and its a fun and joyous day for all.
Raphael did 3 team event and his class won for all 3. Seeing how well he perform for the event makes all our effort to attend the event well worth.

Scootering at Marina Bay Area
Date : 13th July 2013
Sticking to our new "resolution" of doing more outdoor rather than mall hopping on weekend. We found ourselves visiting the marina bay, esplanade and east coast more often. The kids get to practice their scooting skills while daddy can do some jogging and mummy can get a workout chasing after the boys..
Really looking forward to 2-3 years time when Raphael will be old enough to jog with Daddy while Gabriel will also be able to scoot and ride fast enough to keep up..by then, wonder what will mummy choose..to jog, scoot or bike. She don't like all these 3 sports. She don't seems to like doing sports. Good luck to her in 2-3 years time
