Feeding Raphael
 Breastfeeding was never easy... I had started on a road of no return.. until the day i stopped. Total breastfeed is lagi worst... I had friends who had already stopped and enjoying their sleep and shopping. Me? I am still persisting. and my persistance realli pay off with abundant supply of milk for Raphael. I still remember 6months ago when precious darling came into this world. My supply was miserable. That few drop of colostrum.. I experience tremendous pain when nipple crack and he bite me...well...feeding him become something which terrifies me then Then he was admitted to hospital due to jaundice.. I had to start pumping for him and bring over to hospital. That begins my 2nd job called exclusively pumping. When he was discharged, i tried to latch him on and milk blisters appear...hurts me so much... so..i switch to pumping again. I still remember the times when my right hand is totally numb and i couldnt feel much when i tried to held on to objects... My heart froze... Then it spread to my left hand..so both my hands were numb from the 2nd month. I was so tempted to get a electric pump.. but the cost put me off. For a electric pump it cost ard 200+.. hai... so i endure.. It wasnt a pleasant experience for a first time mummy like me and i had hear numerous unwanted "Advice" saying my milk is too thin, too little, i latch for too long.. Initally i am very affected by such unwanted comments and feel so disgusted by their behaviour. The worst is yet to come. I was down with high fever on 3 occassion, all temperature were soaring a high of 38-38.5degree... The first fever i had to feed raphael with Formula milk as i had no knowledge that he can still continue to drink my milk Then, engorgement was the next stage of bf. Times when i overslpt and i wake up with pain, i had nobody to comfort me, nor anyone to help me. I got to rely on myself.. I cannot complain to anyone.. Else, pple will discourage me to stop bf. All i need was some comfort when i complain. But i received none. The time has come.. I am now going into the 6th Month of feeding him. I am so proud to have a big giant baby weighing at least 8.5kg now! =) I am so glad that i push through despite all odds (with a miserable manual pump) and had ignored and filtered off those unhelpful & hurting comments made by pple. Well.. My next target is to continue till he is 9 months old. Should be ok, since i got 3 more months to go. Newer Posts <- -> Older Posts
