Raphael starting Playgroup
Another milestone for Raphael..for the past year, we have exposed Raphael to Kindermusik and Julia Gabriel on weekends, but its all parent accompanied lessons.. From next January onwards, he will be starting the daily playgroup at the centre just under our block..We are initially reluctant to start him so soon as we are expecting his baby brother in Feb, and with him going to playgroup and exposing himself to all the germs and bringing it back. But when we got the call that there is a vacancy for Jan, somehow all worries make way as we gets all excited that our little darling is going to attend a playgroup, all by himself for 2 hours. So we registered him and will need to work out a schedule for him to attend regularly in Jan. Cant wait to hear from him who is his favourite teacher and friend etc.. Raphael's Update - Dec 2010
Since 2 weeks back, Daddy and Mummy started to notice Raphael's behavioural change..He is easily irritated and is less obedient..he likes to do things that we forbids him to..Apparently this is expected as "legend" says that when kids are expecting a new sibling, they will start to behave "abnormally" but should go back to their usual 乖乖 self once the baby brother is born..Really hope this is true as Raphael is quite a little unreasonable terror now. Raphael has got Daddy's gene, as he knows how to decorate and create his own corner..we have 2 toy container besides the window and one night Raphael started to arrange the container together and request Mummy to fold the blanket and place on top to create a bed, next he piles many pillows and bolster to make his own resting corner besides the window..he also knows window view is prime property leh.. You can see how he lies on his new bed while watching TV..kiao kar till so high..little Tyrant  He is growing well although he dont takes much proper meals..a typical meal will be porridge (plain without vege or meat) or plain rice with Gravy and 5oz of milk every 3 hrs..but in between he will snack on chocolates, milo, ice-cream...its definitely unhealthy to consume so much sugar at his age..we are trying hard to reduce all the junkie food.. See the photo below, he looks so stout and well built, towering over most kids his age..but 好看不好吃..he is actually a timid boy who wont fight back if other people snatch his toys boohoo.. But on the other hand, he is also a caring and brave boy..Recently mummy has been experiencing heartburn and vomitting more frequently..Raphael will be very concerned and stands besides mummy as she vomits and ask her if she is ok..Mummy will tell him she is ok and Raphael will double confirm "你真的ok吗?" And once when Mummy accidentally scratches his cheek while pushing him away while vomitting, Raphael actually tells mummy "no problem, 不痛"..a brave boy.  Newer Posts <- -> Older Posts
Xmas Eve Dinner
Venue : Raphael's house Its the annual Phay Family Xmas Dinner and this year its held at Our house. Dinner is traditional Roast beef, leg of lamb, Honey baked ham and smoked chicken with garlic bread and spaghetti. Godpa Bennett is away in Canada and this blog post is specially for him. The kids has a great time opening the many presents and playing with the bowling set, cars etc..Ian especially had an enjoyable time eating all the foods offered to him..Durian roll and smoke chicken meat.. Yvette and Ian's diet is really different from Raphael..Raphael never likes Durian and meats..(except McNugget)  The little musician Ian and singer wannabe Yvette  Ian enjoys the little Piano  Cheeze...for Bennett who cant join us! Boxing Day Gathering - Mummy's Gang
Venue : Elsie and Chole's house Its Boxing day and Mummy's gang are gathered once again for get together..and surprise surprise...Raphael is not "afraid" of Elsie and Chole and enjoyed their company..heard the girls are also very "smitten" by Raphael kor kor that they will snatch mummy's phone when they see Raphael's pictures in it haha.. The gathering as usual ends with "elaborate" group photos with many categories haha..cannot anyhow take one..need to seperate the boys, girls, guys and ladies.. Daddy did it again!
4 4 4 4 4...4 4 4 4 4 whats the significance of this number? hmmm..this number represents the number of watch Daddy bought in year 2010! . This is a real find as its a mechanical winding watch that requires no battery..and the casing is transparent on front and back..Since its going at 25% off during the Xmas period..so why wait..at this price..its a steal.. The watch requires approximately 20 winds to last 48hrs..and thats the beauty of the watch..u need to wound it you can hear the tick tick sound as it moves..  Titan Tandem Automatic Watch . Raphael and his Curry Pok
 Raphael loves curry pok..haha..last night while at Granny Phay's house and Daddy was dozing off lying on the floor. Raphael for some apparent reason walked over and pretend to feed Daddy a "virtual" curry pok..at the same time he commented. Raphael : "AH Phael 要去做工，才有钱买curry pok给Daddy吃" Tonight, Granny Phay is making her homemade curry puff and she specially made some minute ones for Raphael..She was so excited to make curry puff for Raphael as she knows he loves it..But knowing Kids, if they like a certain food, then it must be that "certain" food..not any other curry puffs will do for him..he only loves Old Chang Kee so far.. When the homemade puffs are ready, Granny Phay excitedly break off a small piece and fed Raphael..he eats its, chew it BUT didnt swallow it.. Next comes the classic part.. Granny : Raphael, is the curry puff nice? Raphael : 好吃！nice Granny : Come and eat..come.. Raphael : Mummy, 去坐MRT/LRT 买curry pok (OCK) Actually, this method of saying the food is not nice is a trademark of his Mummy..Gekeng will also say NICE..want 2nd helping? NO.. Then Raphael walks to the living room, out of Granny's sight and spits the curry puff our :p No offence to Granny Phay, but knowing children, they are just very picky when it comes to food. The $2 suspender
Rivervale Mall has a Daiso..and recently it seems we have more time to spare when visiting the mall that we started to go Daiso walk walk before going grocery shopping at NTUC. The items are not necessary cheap when you adds up the many items at $2 each..but for little home improvement items, I guess Daiso is the place to go. We chanced upon this nice little suspenders available in black and red..not that Raphael needs one..as his pants are usally too tight to slip down haha..its mainly for "decoration" purpose that we got this suspenders for him..hmm..he got a retro boy book when we pair it off with a little white top and blue shorts..very japanese or korean boy look..too bad we forgot to pull his socks knee high..else the look will be complete. Cheeky Raphael
Did we mention that Raphael is a "parrot" haha..as in he likes to imitate people's action and words..previously was him imitating mummy's checkup at gynae..this time he imitiates mummy's pregnancy pose :) Daddy was taking photos of mummy's heavily pregnant tummy at 32 weeks old..and Raphael on seeing this, also flips his shirt up to expose his little tummy and pose with Mummy. Raphael is 5 more months to 3YO
5th Dec, Grandma Phay's actual birthday..she is born on this day in 1953..that makes her 58 years old..in 2 more years, we will be celebrating her 60th 大寿 birthday..dunno how elaborate we intend to celebrate..but shld be more than what we did today haha.. As Bennett is away in Canada, Brandon is not available, we just got a small small cake from neighbourhood shop..There is even a Doraemon on the cake :P Actually, the whole family already pre-celebrated this occassion on Tue in Yunnan Restaurant at NTU Alumni Club.. Godpa, Yvette and Ian Visit
Its 2nd Dec night..late at around 11pm and Godpa bennett brought Yvette and Ian over to visit..why such late hours? haha..because he is flying off tomorrow early morning at 7am to Canada..These 3 kids are real night owls..especially Raphael whose sleeping time on average is 1am in the morning. The kids really enjoyed themselves, with Raphael willingly sharing all his rides, stuffed toys and thomas trains..Wonder how Baby Caleb's room will look like in future..
