Our "new" bed
When we bought our bed during newly wed, we feel that a queen size would do..then 3 years later with Raphael added, we felt a king would be better..3 more years passed and with Gabriel, even a King will not be enuff haha..
For the past 2 years, we have been sleeping together as a family in the Children's playroom which is carpeted..simply using a foldable mattress and we have abundance of space to sleep..
But sleeping on a full spring mattress definitely beats a hard carpeted floor, and rather than throwing away our queen (cost $2.5K) and get a king (cost another $3.5K), we simply did some "research" and decided to get a simple single bedframe and mattress from Ikea to extend our existing bed..the idea came from our countless hotel staycation where we combine 2 super single into a extra large bed..
the end result is what we get as shown below, a bed bigger than a King..and it only cost us total $400 including bedsheet haha..although it doesnt look "Glam"..but with 2 kids fighting to squeeze in between us daily, this new bed definitely is a welcome relief..Raphael has his own corner and Gabriel can sleep safely and spaciously inbetween us..
