Importance of a PROMISE
An incident today left Daddy deeply apolegetic to Raphael..its all about keeping one's promise..
Last night Daddy told Mummy that he will be on leave tomorrow..Raphael overheard and ask Daddy if he can pick him up from school tomorrow..Daddy just replied OK without giving much serious thought.
Apparently our little Darling Raphael took this promise seriously..very serious indeed..
The next day, daddy sent mummy to work and run some errands..the thought of going to fetch Raphael did cross his mind..but its more like wanting to give Raphael a surprise rather then keeping his "promise"
In the end, daddy opted to go for a foot reflexology instead..feeling guilty for not spending more time with the kids on his off day, Daddy decided against watching a movie and rushed home in time to receive Raphael as he alights from his schoolbus.
Intially wanted to surprise him, but when Raphael sees Daddy..he burst into tears and cried..Daddy is shocked on seeing this and thought something bad happened to him..Only when the Bus attendant related what happened to Daddy did he realised he is the cause of Raphael's emotion outburst.
Apparently Raphael remembered the "promise" that Daddy will pick him up from school and inform the teacher about it..So the teacher brought him to the main gate to wait..when Daddy didnt show up, the teacher brought Raphael to the waiting school bus..he is very angry and cried once on boarding the bus (Daddy felt soo guilty to have caused such "hurt" to Raphael at that moment when he realised Daddy is not there to pick him up)
Knowing the reason for his outburst at seeing Daddy at home, Daddy immediately made plans to make up to him..Decided to bring him to Sentosa to play sand and water since he loves the beach..so without changing out of his uniform, we made our way to the nice Tanjong beach at Sentosa with our usual barang of mat and beach umbrella.
Daddy had a relaxing 2 hours by the beach while Raphael entertains himself..
A promise is a PROMISE to a kid..they takes it seriously..so always keep one made to a kid.
Daddy learnt it the hard way..and hurt our precious one's heart..Daddy also got a "lecture" from mummy..
Raphael had the whole beach to himself..in the background is our trusted mat and umbrella
