iPad vs AC Ryan 7" Tablet
Lately we noticed Gabriel seems to be longing to own his own iPad. Partly as he grows, he is able to grasp many new games and this piqué his interest in playing more games.
He loves to play with auntie layhoon iPad and once when we are at her house, Gabriel actually went to look for the iPad but to his dismay layhoon brought it out. This prompted kor kor to comment "how can she bring iPad go out?" Haha.
Gabriel will also every now and then look you in the eyes and goes...."ipaad. Ipaaad. Mummy seeing him so pitiful, keep yearning for one finally bought him his own iPad mini.
When we presented the gift to him, he is soo happy and the expression on his face and action hugging mummy is priceless.
On this night he is soo happy that when we go challenger to buy the cover for his iPad. He hops around the whole place and kept repeating iPad iPad iPad on anything he sees.
Daddy also bought an AC Ryan tablet for $179 to try out android after being an Apple all his life.
One day. 2 tablet

March 2013 Road Trip to Port Dickson
Date : 23rd March 2013
Occassion of Joy : Weekend Getaway to Port Dickson
Car Breakdown!
On Friday, the day before our road trip to PD, Daddy is suffering from a slight stomach discomfort and thus didnt bring our car to the workshop for road worthiness check before the long drive tom. anyway the car was last serviced 1 month back..and it never gave us any problem in the past 6 years of driving..so no worries?
Come Saturday, we are all geared up and all aboard at 730am to avoid the queue in Tuas 2nd Link..Car started up as usual..good to go..drove down the carpark, pass a speed hump and we heard a funny sound under the front hood area..thinking its just the water from the washing previous night acting on the brake, Daddy drove on and the sound dissappears..
TPE->SLE->KJE and while exiting SLE to KJE, Daddy felt the steering wheel is very heavy..its like driving a 3 tonner trunk without power steeering..sensing something very wrong, we exited Chua Chu Kang road and did a few turns in a secluded area and Daddy confirmed the power steering is gone..Hearts sank!...of all day, this gota happen today..
Still, we kept our spirits up and drove on to Komoco at Leng Kee as they are open on a Saturday..we die die want to go Port Dickson as the Hotel is already booked and too late to cancel..
We registered our car with Komoco A&E unit and pray for the best = low repair cost and fast turnover..i think we prayed real hard and after 2 hours of waiting, we heard from the technician that its just a hose came loose and no major motor fault etc..just need to replace a new hose for the power steering and top up lubricant and some labour charge to check all clear..all in cost is $100.70..Phew!
Daddy half expected a price like $500 considering its at Komoco (authorised agent usually chop carrot) and the fault seems serious..
We are again all good to go and felt more assured with the thorough checks by the technician..we reached Tuas at 1230pm..we are 3 hours behind our schedule, but still in time for the 3pm checkin at the Hotel..
Thank God Komoco opens at 8am on a Saturday
Raphael busied himself while we wait for the repair

Journey @ Port Dickson
Our drive to Port Dickson is really an eye opener for both Daddy and Mummy..used to max speed of 100km\h in Singapore road..we are shocked and in awe of the Peroduas, Proton, Mercs and Porsche zooming past us at more than 140km\h we guess as we are already driving at 110km\h..
Anyway with 2 precious, priceless kids playing ipads in the back seat..Daddy kept focus on the road ahead and staying constant at 110km\h and enjoys the smooth drive..
Reaching PD's Avillion Resort at 330pm, we are slightly late but no one is complaining..at least we made it here despite the early morning breakdown..also we survived the treacherous North South Highway..
We managed to get a room in the 900++ as we heard from Trip Advisor that its quieter, away from the crowd of the pool..the room is spacious with a big day bed..the room's furnishing is abit old and looks not well maintained..the air-con is also lacking under the hot day sun..although it started to cool down sufficiently in the night for a comfortable rest..personally we find the price of RM640++ per night not justifiable..its definitely not a 5 Star place..max max we will give it a 3.5-4 Star..
The charm is not in the room deco and furnishing though..its the nice and relaxing surroundings of the resort that compensates for the lacking in the room.the place is well landscaped and there are small animals like peacocks and chicken roaming around..there is also the nice beach besides our room which is pretty clean with nice white sand..
We spend most of our time swimming in the pool, playing sand at the beach and walking around with the kids exploring..little things like the traditional feet wash makes the kids feel interesting..the kids also tried their hands at fishing from our balcony with the rod we brought along..dont expect to catch anything but just for the fun of it..
we ended our 1st day with Dinner at a rather well known local restaurant called Sea View Seafood before calling it a day..
The 2nd day morning, we made an effort to wake up at 730am for breakfast so that we can get to enjoy the facilities before the 12pm check out..with 3 hours to spare after breakfast, we again hit the pools and beach which the kids never seems to get tired of playing..its just sand and water and they can go on and on and on..
We hit the road by 1230pm and reach Bukit Indah at 4pm for grocery shopping before reaching Tuas CP at 615pm..little delay at Msia side of customs for around 20mins and no jam at Spore side..by 7pm we are on the way home!!
We will be back sooon Port Dickson!

Legoland with Bennett and Family
Date : 13th March 2013
Its a Hot Hot Hot sunny day and its also the long awaited visit to Legoland for the kids..whats so special? Yvette, Ian and Matthias is 1st time visting..Raphael and Gabriel? its their 1st time visiting with Yvette jie jie haha..anything also can be 1st lah..
We arrived at around 11am and managed to grab empty lots besides the Medini mall = not many people, which is good news..While buying day pass, Godpa bennett learnt that if they have kellogs's cutout, each child will be free with an accompanying adult..thats means a total of RM330 WASTED..early know will go the mamak stall in the mall and buy 3 kellogs cereal..anyway..early know tio TOTO liao..
We started the fun clockwise, starting from the driving, boating and finishing at the Project X..we took a leisurely time of close to 7hours with many water breaks in between as the weather is simply too hot..
infact it got so hot that Gabriel "burnt" his knee cap while playing the open air playground called the Shipyard..its really terrible..not a single shade to provide some shelter for the poor kids in the playground..we had to pour cold water over the kids's head and wipe their face with water to cool them down..Raphael and Gabriel loves it..but when we tried the same on Yvette, she got angry and cries..thats the difference between a boy and gal haha..
Today also marks the 1st Roller Coaster ride for Yvette..Daddy had to cheer and pump up their excitement and all the kids are soo eager to ride the roller coaster that they forgot any fear they have..
Yvette enjoys the rides so much that we had seconds and even 3rd "helping"..we took the little Dragon and even the terrifying Project X..
We originally planned to go grocery shopping at Bukit Indah after Legoland but in the end we just settled our Dinner at Chicken Rice Shop at Medini mall before going back home as we are simply too tired..
The heat actually tires us out alot faster and many of us had headache mid way through..
Heat aside, the day is fun and the kids enjoys every rides..next year we will be back again when the Family is back in Singapore for good.
Group photo..all excited to visit Legoland Malaysia! their 1st stop, driving lesson Horse Riding.. Gabriel getting ready to drive the boat Mini ride..but still scary see Gabriel's expression..soooo cute the 2 boys competing to get to the car 1st Gabriel is finally "tall" enough to try out some rides We ended the day at close to 7pm with a picture with the Mascot at the entrance Newer Posts <- -> Older Posts |
