Gabriel's minor surgery - Circumcision
This whole "saga" happens on the morning of 28th July 2013, Sunday..
That morning after St Anne's Church annual feast day, Mummy brought the boys for Raphael's weekly swimming lesson during which Gabriel will also have some pool time..He tells mummy that his private area is painful, which mummy attributes it to his swimming suit being too small, thus tight at his groin area. We didn't think much of it except making plan to get him a bigger swim suit soon.
That afternoon, while we are at Nex Mall, the boys are playing with each other and Gabriel accidentally trip and fall down. So Raphael went over to help him up and at that moment G started to cry and point to his private area and say "pain, pain"
Daddy thought he may have hurt himself during the fall but the pain seems to be much worst..he just cried and keep saying pain pain and jump around on the spot..We brought him to the toilet to inspect him but cant see any obvious cuts or bruise which can explain the pain.
After more observation, we realised that the pain is when he urinates and it seems so painful that he will burst into cold sweats and seeing him suffers so much really pains our heart..
That evening, we decided to bring him to KK A&E for a consultation as our regular PD doesn't open on Sunday. The hospital ran urine test on him and found no Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) and the initial diagnosis could be foreskin infection and also a condition known as "phimosis" where the foreskin is too tight which can cause infection and pain when urinating.
We were given antibiotic and cream to apply for him to ease the pain and go back for another specialist (urologist) on the 15th Aug in KK.
After completing his medication and seeing he still experience pain after 1 week, we decided to consult a private specialist and the diagnosis is fast..He needs to go for circumcision as his foreskin is very tight and prone to infection..We are hoping for a non-surgical recovery but it seems for his condition, circumcision seems to be the best option.
We saw the specialist at Mt Alvernia (Dr Sim) on Wednesday 7th Aug and fixed the surgery on the 10th Aug Saturday. The next 2 day was mentally torturing for us as we are not very sure that we want him to go through the surgery and if this is the best for him. Ultimately we guess we had to put our faith in the specialist who recommends this option and just brace ourselves for the "big" day.
The surgery is scheduled at 9am and we are to check-in at 7am, which means we need to wake at 6am..this feels like a holiday itinerary but the difference is we are not going to the airport but hospital..checking in not in a Hotel but Day surgery!
Poor Gabriel is still in the dark what he will be going through although Raphael seems to know..we are still joking if we can enjoy 1 for 1 for this circumcision surgery haha..
When the time comes for the surgery, mummy accompany Gabriel into the Operating theatre and while they are walking in, Gabriel suddenly turns and look at Daddy and give me a smile..wondering why didn't Daddy follow and where is he going with mummy?
Mummy says that in the Ops theatre, the anaesthetist put a mask on G and ask him to blow 3 times which he did and by the 3rd blow, his eyes just drifts off and his grip loosens and he going into zzzzz..
The whole procedure took about 30mins and he already regain conscious when wheeled out..we are told to let him rest and ensure that he can drink water without vomiting before he can be discharged..
He is coping well with whatever pain that he is experiencing and its much better than we expected..after the numbness wears off, he do cry every now and then but most of the time he is able to rest and watch cartoon, eat ice cream, pee (with some discomfort) and even pass motion.
The next 2-3 days will be just pampering and pampering for this little boy and hope he will make a full recovery within a week.

7th Outing to LegoLand
Date : 27th July 2013 Saturday
This is our 7th visit to LEGOLAND and its a really last minute decision..its a special request by Gabriel on the night before and we just grab our passport and make our way there at 2pm..We didn't know the traffic could be so bad on a Saturday afternoon and we were in the slow moving traffic for a good 2 1/2 hours..we finally made it to LEGOLAND at close to 5pm and grab a quick bite before hitting the park..
We basically just roam around the park and let the kids decide what they want to play..Raphael managed to pass off as a 6 year old to take the driving course..
Daddy finally bought the Chima sword and shield for the kids and they really love it..Raphael attracts a lot of attention when he brings it out and as usual, he just loves the attention.
We stayed till past 8pm before making our way back to the customs back home.
Our annual membership expires in 2 months time and guess we will be back for 2-3 more times since Gabriel loves this place.
Gabriel will always "threaten" not to bring Daddy or mummy to LEGOLAND whenever he is angry..he will go "Daddy, no LEGOLAND!"

Sand Play @ Sentosa

After Raphael's impact model photoshoot in the morning, we rushed back to fetch Raphael before making our way to the beach at Sentosa for some sand play time..
Gabriel has slowly overcame his fear of the sand and loves walking along the water..we got this nice pair of shovel from Giant at Vivo specially for them today..its a lot easier to dig in the sand compared to those small little kids play set.
We spend a good 2 hours at the beach before packing up and made our way to Vivo for dinner..
With Gabriel growing up, there are more activities which the 2 boys can do in common nowadays..
Looking forward to kick scootering and jogging with the kids soon

Raphael's K1 Class Photo

Raphael's K1 Photoshoot..His favourite gal friend is seated front row 3rd from left called Clarice Koh (许慧敏）whom he simply adores..her mummy is also Raphael's catechism class teacher..
He even says to us that she will be his future wife haha..
Standing besides him is also his best friend Ananya, whom he knows since nursery.
