Raphael is down with HFMD
Monday 12th Dec 2012, Raphael is officially a HFMD carrier as confirmed by Dr Anthony from ABC clinic in Hougang..he is running a fever the night before and in the morning, we saw some ulcers underneath his lips..we initially thot that it could because he bit his lips..but we are prepared that he is likely to have HFMD..Daddy never thought that Raphael will get this as HFMD although is common, but its still alien to Daddy..have never heard of this when he is young..maybe its called a different medical terms 30 years back.. . its going to be a "long" and tiring next 5-7 days as we nurse this little boy back to health..he has no blisters on his mouth, palm or feet which is a blessing..the only discomfort is his many ulcers in his mouth and bout of fever throughout the day..as expected, he demands more attention and kicks up a fuss whenever he is in discomfort.. . as advised by Doctor, we can feel free to give him ice cold drinks, ice creams etc...as he will reject normal food due to the ulcers..he seems to understand this and will request for ice cream as late as 11pm!!..we can only oblige as he really didnt eat much for the day..need to take extra care to rinse his mouth after such to keep it clean so that it will heals faster..even this is a challenge as he will cry and not allow us to rinse his mouth.. .
